How do I place a student in the Greensboro AHEC region?
The Greensboro ORPCE serves 8 counties -- Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Guilford,
Montgomery, Orange, Randolph, and Rockingham. We serve as a liaison and bridge
the connection between the schools and preceptors in our region.
Course coordinators placing students in our region for clinical rotations of
approved ORPCE courses (please see the ORPCE Guidelines for a list of
approved courses) need to notify our office of these rotations as soon as
possible. The NC AHEC Primary Care Rotation form should be completed and
faxed to our office on each student who is precepted by one of the preceptors
within our region. This ensures that the preceptor will be reimbursed for
precepting the student.

Some of our sites agree to precept a large number of students each year. To ensure they are not overloaded with requests, these have been designated as "Gatekeeper Sites" and the Greensboro ORPCE maintains and coordinates the scheduling of students for these sites. All placements and requests for placements at these sites must go through our office here at the Greensboro ORPCE. (You will find a listing of these sites below.) Coordinators wishing to place students at these Gatekeeper sites should complete a NC AHEC Primary Care Rotation form and fax (336-832-2851) it to our office. We will determine if the rotation can be scheduled and notify you as soon as possible.
