Partners with:
Serves practicing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students,residents and fellows, medical residents, physician extenders and physicians.
Provides continuing education through collaborative program planning to health care professionals.
Identifies and monitors pharmacist training sites and faculty provides direct preceptorship.
Advances pharmacy practice by providing clinical pharmacy services (drug therapy management and direct patient care consultation) in the neonatal intensive care, family medicine, and specialty clinics through out the area with concurrent research performed.
Research projects include drug assays, educational effectiveness, therapeutic effectiveness, and pharmacoeconomics. Research is submitted for publication in major medical and pharmacy journals. Over 100 research projects have been published through this office since 1979. Measurable results are used to improve performance and facilitate communication of goals and objectives to evaluate and improve our curriculum and instructional methodology.
Pharmacists
faculty are nationally renown and available to contract with physician groups
for formulary issues, evaluate individual drugs, provide drug class reviews and
create therapeutic algorithms based on national guidelines.
