The Moses H. Cone
Pediatric Teaching Program
The
purpose of the Pediatric Teaching Program is to provide:
- Community-based education for University
of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (UNC) Pediatric Residents
- Pediatric
training for Moses Cone Family Medicine Residents
- A complete 8 week inpatient and outpatient
clerkship for UNC medical students
- A subinternship experience for UNC medical
students.
- Inpatient, nursery, consultative, and
educational services for community pediatricians and family practitioners
- A venue for research, curriculum
development, and child advocacy
Faculty:
- 9 Full-time UNC faculty and numerous
part-time and affiliated faculty. Moses Cone is designated as an
integrated institution within the UNC pediatric residency program.
- Subspecialties include asthma/allergy, developmental
pediatrics, genetics, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical
care, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric neurology, pediatric psychology,
and pediatric surgery.
Facilities
- The Pediatric Teaching Program functions
within the Moses Cone Health System which serves the health needs of persons
in Greensboro, NC, Guilford county as well as many neighboring counties.
Pediatric venues include:
- A dedicated pediatric inpatient service
and pediatric intensive care unit within a 550 bed not-for-profit hospital.
- Women's Hospital of Greensboro that has
more than 5,000 deliveries/year and a Level III NICU.
- Guilford Child Health, Inc, a primary
care practice which serves
children whose families are at or below 200% of poverty.
