The Library has books and
audiovisuals available for loan to individual MCHS employees and Medical Staff
(including Residents, Interns, and Medical Students).
Borrowers must register at the Library.
These materials must be picked up and returned to the Library.
A selection of SPANISH LANGUAGE and
CULTURAL DIVERSITY MATERIALS, (for a listing of the Spanish Language
resources in Spanish, please CLICK HERE),
and audiovisuals (see the MCHS online catalog) are also available, through
Interlibrary Loan, to the staff of GAHEC health agencies which have a Library

Table of Contents
Copies of the table of contents of each issue of selected journals received by
the Library are sent to MCHS managers and physicians requesting this service.
This service may be requested at either of the three Libraries.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY
Any individual may make copies of
library materials within the Library. A fee of $ .10 per page will apply.
Photocopy Requests
GAHEC health agencies with LIBRARY
CONTACT AGREEMENTS and all other libraries may request copies through normal
interlibrary loan channels. Fees will be charged in accordance with the
Library's Interlibrary Loan Policy. (For this fee structure, please CLICK HERE). Requests may be made by
email,
phone, fax, or in writing.
Interlibrary Loans
The Library will request books, audiovisuals, or copies of articles from other
libraries for MCHS employees and Medical Staff (including Residents, Interns,
and Medical students). Fees incurred by the Library will be charged to the
individual or to the requestor's cost center.
GAHEC health agencies with LIBRARY
CONTACT AGREEMENTS and all other libraries may request article copies

phone, fax, or in writing.
Loansome Doc, a document delivery service
available through the MCHS Library in cooperation with the National Library of
Medicine's PubMed Medline database, is available for physicians affiliated with
Moses Cone Health System. Arrangements for Loansome Doc should be made with the
appropriate MCHS campus Library.
GAHEC health professionals and agencies are referred to their public library, to
the REQUEST-A-COPY
service by UNC-CH or to the Loansome
Doc service through UNC-CH (call (919) 966-4998),WAKE
FOREST MEDICAL SCHOOL, or DUKE
UNIVERSITY. For full information regarding the Loansome Doc service, go

Doc: First Steps. The public, patients, and families are referred to their
public library or the UNC-CH
REQUEST-A-COPY service. Health professional students on rotation are
referred first to their school's library. Students unaffiliated with Moses Cone
Health System are referred to their school's library.

Assistance for the individual within
the Library is available.
The Library offers instructional workshops on Basic Internet skills, Advanced
Internet Searching skills, and Searching the Medical Literature via OvidWeb.
These classes are opened to MCHS employees and Medical Staff (including
Residents, Interns, and Medical Students). SCHEDULES
of classes are found on the Library Web page. You may register for these classes
by phone or email to the
Librarian at the Hospital where the class is being held.

The MCHS/GAHEC Library maintains a web
site which lists reviewed and recommended Internet sites in a variety of
subject classifications. A description of the services
and fees) of the Library and the hours of operation of the three library
sites are also included. Lists of Spanish
language and cultural diversity materials are available. A SCHEDULE
of Library sponsored workshops is available through the web site. A description
