Why I came to the Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency Program:
After doing two rotations here, I am impressed by the amazing and supportive atmosphere in which the residents are training. The attendings and clinic staff are interested in our learning, and excited about teaching. The expectations are high, but not at the expense of the residents being happy and satisfied with the program. The residents are close and supportive of one another. Lastly, we see a very diverse patient population, socioeconomically, racially, and ethnically, which I feel to be a very important part of my training.

Why I came to the Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency Program:
Moses Cone is a community program affiliated with UNC. As such, it is uniquely suited to provide excellent teaching and great resources, in a friendly atmosphere, where people are encouraged to ask questions and be themselves. The patient population is diverse and the level of acuity seen here is wide-ranging. Perhaps most importantly, the people at Moses Cone seem to be happy with and motivated by their work. The faculty are impressive and the residents are consistently solid year after year in this program. Moses Cone is regarded highly elsewhere and has strength in virtually all realms of Family Medicine.

Why I came to the Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency Program:
When I first met Moses Cone residents at the Kansas City National Conference, I thought to myself: "these residents are genuinely happy to be here." The more people I meet, the more I realize how kind and approachable everyone at this program is. The quality of residents that Moses Cone recruits is top notch - and that's saying a lot considering this state's many strong Family Medicine programs. The city is beautiful, with abundant parks and greenery. As I'm about to finish my first rotation (OB), I can honestly say that all the attendings, midwives, and residents I've interacted with have been a pleasure to work with and learn from.

Why I came to Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency Program:
I was an acting intern at Moses Cone my fourth year in medical school and really enjoyed the people I worked with. The residents and faculty seemed like a close knit group, and I could definitely sense a family atmosphere. The clinic is within walking distance to the hospital which is great for attending noon conferences. The attendings are always willing to answer questions and everyone, including all the office staff, is very helpful.

Personal Interests: running, soccer, watching and playing most sports, Notre Dame Football (sans 2007!), rollerblading, wall climbing, poker nights, playing golf and sketch, improv & startup comedy and theater
Professional Interests: Sports Medicine
Why I came to Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency:
I have a great interest in sports medicine and used that as a way of narrowing down the programs at which I chose to interview. I asked both Sports medicine and Family Medicine faculty at Indiana about strong programs in both areas and Moses Cone was one of only a couple of places they recommended. At any rate, Moses Cone was my fifth interview and I felt it fit everything I was looking for: strong sports medicine, unopposed with the opportunity for procedures (though we do work with internal medicine residents on Renal), a community instead of university program, faculty that are very bright but are goofy enough to fit with my personality, a city with a lot to do, and residents that I clicked with. I am very glad I took the plunge and chose to leave the Midwest for Cone.

I have absolutely no regrets about coming to Moses Cone FM residency. The faculty all genuinely love their jobs and treat residents like colleagues and friends. The entire hospital system is very supportive towards our program, which provides an enjoyable work environment. Not to mention that I love the other residents - I could not have picked better ones myself! I have no doubt that each and every resident who graduates from this program will be a top-notch family physician.

Why I came to Moses Cone Family Medicine Residency:
Two big reasons: one, I was incredibly impressed with the caliber of people here, from the interns to the attendings to the admin staff. Everyone was openly passionate, amazingly intelligent and dedicated to bringing in others just like them who were willing to become a strong part of the team. Two, this program has a spirit, an enthusiasm, that is infectious and something I wanted to be a part of. I wanted to be surrounded by people who loved practicing medicine but also loved practicing life and this program really displayed that.
