education programs for dental professionals.

Greensboro AHEC Continuing Dental Education Courses have met the criteria of the North Carolina Dental Hygiene Society for continuing education credit.
Greensboro
AHEC requests continuing education credit from the Dental Assisting
National Board
for all programs relevant to Dental Assistants. “DANB
Approval” indicates that a continuing education course appears to meet
certain specifications as described in the DANB Recertification Guidelines.
DANB does not, however, endorse or recommend any participant continuing
education course and is not responsible for the quality of any course content.

AHEC also offers the only on-line course in Intraoral Radiography for
the Office-Trained Dental Assistant and Coronal Polishing for the Dental
Assistant II that meet the requirements set by the North
Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners (NCSBDE) at www.aheconnect.com. |

Dentist and Dental Hygienist Continuing Education Requirements
Required
hours: Dentist
15 hours per calendar year
Hygienists
6 hours per calendar year
(Individuals
licensed in mid-year have until the end of the next calendar year to complete CE
requirements.)
The
number of hours completed will be indicated on the license renewal application
submitted to the NCSBDE. The Board may request official documentation of attendance at
the courses indicated. Each
individual is responsible for maintaining his/her own documentation of CE
courses completed “for at least two years and shall be produced upon request
by the Board.”
Documentation
must include:
1.
The title and description of the course.
2.
The number of hours of instruction
3.
The date and location of the course attended.
4.
The name(s) of the course instructor(s)
5.
The name of the organization offering/sponsoring the course.
Note:
A copy of the Greensboro AHEC catalogue page/brochure and the CE certificate
contain all this information.
