Resident Rotation: About The FirstHealth Elective

This is a five-day elective in rural Troy, N.C. in Montgomery County, which is approximately 50 miles from Greensboro. The hospital is FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial, and is part of the larger hospital system FirstHealth of the Carolinas, with the primary hospital being located 35 miles away in Pinehurst. You will be provided room and meals during this elective, at the Blair House Bed and Breakfast, where you will experience the best of rural living and true southern hospitality.

The curriculum has been designed to offer first-hand experiences in many important facets of care in this community. Hospital administrators, board members, community physicians, hospitalists, ED physicians and hospital staff will all work with you during your five-day elective rotation. You will be asked to complete a free, two-hour online course to prepare you for this experience.
