Through a grant from the N.C. Office of Rural Health, FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial in Troy, N.C. has partnered with Greensboro AHEC to offer you a creative way to learn about Critical Access Hospitals in a rural setting.

Learning how rural hospitals, especially Critical Access Hospitals, operate will improve your understanding of this unique patient care focus, and what your expectations should be if caring for a patient from this area.

The online course gives providers an overview of Critical Access Hospitals, the patients they serve, and the challenges and opportunities they present for physicians.

This CME-approved program offers two approaches to learning:
1) A two hour online course to introduce you to the specifics of these hospitals and the advantages they offer.

2) A four-hour on-site learning opportunity. You will experience first-hand how this facility operates, and will meet administrators, board members and physicians practicing in various areas including ED, community practice and as a hospitalist.
